Bookkeeping and Accounting Services for RETAIL-DISTRIBUTION
Bookkeeping services for retail and distribution from $80 per month for small size operation. We offer our bookkeeping services to retail businesses that require the standard setup of a Chart of Accounts for inventory management and A/R and A/P account management.
Our Retail and Distribution Story
Some retail businesses are more complex in nature than others. To illustrate, when we had our business selling craft supplies, we run three retail stores under the name Headwater Wool in Ontario.
In addition to sets of standard Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks software, we also had accounts supporting product returns, membership cards, and product warranties.
To add to the complexity, our manufacturing process of raw materials would allow us to sell products in the WIP stage (as well as a finished product). We also were producing our brand yarn outside of Canada. We would go to customs in Mississauga to fill out customs forms to pick up our imported products. It is not the end of the story. We were distributing our brand yarn to the US and Canadian yarn stores.
Additionally, we were offering our professional services to customers who were not our regular customers, and we would hire contractors who would supply us with craft patterns. We would drive long distances to market our products and services, and similarly to truck drivers, we would lodge to relax.
At times, we adjust our business to rules written in complex sentences.

Sometimes, we struggled to record our business activities in our accounting books. Twenty years ago, the internet was on the rise, and our QuickBooks was a simple desktop solution without any integrations with CRM, Scheduler, or online invoicing modules. MS Excel was the ordinary solution to business problems, and it still is, just in the different form of Google Sheets on the Internet.
Today, we live in a different world of technology. QuickBooks Online gives all the tools to manage customers, suppliers, inventory stock, taxes, and payroll in one consolidated database. In addition, QBO empowered us with Labels, Classes, and Locations. These functionalities help to set up more complex Chart of Accounts and create custom reports. You can integrate dozens of third-party apps with QBO and create sophisticated business solutions for your retail and distribution business.
